Issued at the height of Imperial power, the Third Farthing denomination was struck solely for circulation in Malta, the initial mintage, in 1827 being just under 1.5 million.
The entire mintages 1827-1913 total approximately Five-Six Million coins, by the 1930s the denomination hardly circulated at all, mirroring the Farthing denomination in Great Britain.
Whilst superb examples go for £100+, detailed, lower grade examples are frequently available in the £10 region, scarcer dates being 1868, 1881 & 1884 with mintages of just 144,000 per year, the commonest 1827. Small numbers of Proofs exist for 1827 & 1835.
